Carmelo Anthony traded to Oklahoma City Thunder

The NBA world has been reshaped by the Carmelo Anthony trade from the New York Knicks to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Knicks have gone from a fringe playoff team to a very young team that is looking to the future now and the Thunder have gone from a mid-placed playoff team in the stacked western conference to a possible championship contender and could possibly knock out the dominant Golden State Warriors in the western conference and defeat the winner of the east, making them NBA champions. This all depends if the combination of Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony can make it work together and execute correctly. If that happens, we could be seeing the team that knocks the warriors out. The matchup between these 2 teams next season could be very interesting and is a possible western conference finals matchup for the ages because if the fact that Kevin Durant left the Thunder for the Warriors just last season.

Carmelo Anthony and Paul George finally have the help they need to contend for a championship and mixed with the MVP calibre Russell Westbrook, this team could be very dangerous and shake up the NBA world.

With the 2017 NRL season officially over, rugby league fans are eager for next season to commence but luckily for the time being there is the Rugby League World Cup to watch. The competition starts late October with the first game being between Australia and England in Melbourne.  The 14 countries involved in the world cup are Australia, England, Papua New Guinea, Wales, New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, the United States of America, Ireland, Italy, France, Lebanon, Scotland and Tonga. The NBA season is underway tomorrow and it looks to be one of the more exciting and most anticipated ones in NBA history as teams have loaded up with talent and are looking to win a championship. Opening night will see the Cleveland Cavaliers face the Boston Celtics in a highly anticipated match that will see Kyrie Irving return to Cleveland for the first time not in a Cavaliers uniform. The reaction from the crowd will be interesting to see. There might be respect for what he has done in his Cavaliers career or hatred for the way he wanted to leave the organisation.
