NRL finals week 2 review The second round of the finals brought about much controversy over some questionable decision making from the referees and the huge upset win from the North Queensland Cowboys over the Parramatta Eels. Both matchups provided strong competition with the week kicking off with the Brisbane Broncos defeating the Penrith Panthers 13-6 in a hard-fought nail-biter, Saturdays game provided an upset 24-16 win for North Queensland Cowboys over the red-hot Parramatta Eels. The Penrith vs Broncos game sparked major debate due to some of the referees decisions in particular, the referees decision to hold up the play after Broncos plater Corey Oates was knocked unconscious after running into his own team mate Anthony Milford. The ball was dropped and a Penrith player picked up the ball and was almost certainly going to score a runaway try when the referee blew his whistle and call the play back.
