English Premier League - Team of the Season so far (GK & Defenders)
As we reach the conclusion of the seventh matchday of the season the teams of the Premier League have begun to sort out their positions in the pecking order, and a number of players have demonstrated that they will be instrumental in the remainder of their teams' seasons. Today we have a look at the outstanding performers as we put together our team of the season so far.
David De Gea (Manchester United): The Spaniard has once again shown his adeptness for the role this season when he has been needed this season pulling off many admirable saves and commanding a newly solid defense meaning things look on the up for United.

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea): Arguably the best performing defender in the opening weeks this season, solid at the back and not afraid to get forward, the Spain international has shown great ability already setting up three goals for striker Alvaro Morata.

Eric Bailly (Manchester United): Impressively athletic and always calm under pressure, Bailly continues to satisfy in his second season with another round of solid showings for Mourinho's side.

Antonio Valencia (Manchester United): Another of Mourinho's key players Valencia continues in his transitioned role at fullback after Ferguson's reign and he keeps improving. Solid, quick, and deadly on the attack, Valencia has been formative to United's success thus far.

Marcos Alonso (Chelsea): Notching two goals in one game to get the win for your team, including a stunning freekick, is no mean feat for a player tasked with defending. Put that alongside consistent displays of defensive prowess puts you on the radar as one of the best. Marcos Alonso continues a great start at Chelsea this season in inspired form.
