India took a 1-0 lead in three match T20 series with Australia at Ranchi

Australia - 118/8 (18.4) vs India - 49/1 (5.3)

After winning 4-1 in ODI series, India took on Australia again by 8 wickets with just 188 runs. This is their seventh consecutive win against Australia in the shortest format of the game.

David Warner lost his toss with Virat Kohli who asked to bowl first with some rain about as there was a possibility of rain before the match started. Australia took 118 runs with 8 wickets gone from 18.4 overs. India had a revised DLS target to take 48 runs in 6 overs as the rain forced the match to end early, but India won by taking 49 runs in just 5.3 overs.

Australia’s captain Steve Smith flew back home as he injured his shoulder last week. So for all the series, David took the role as the teams captain. And the allrounder Marcus Stions  joined the squad as Smiths replacement.

India lost Rohit Sharma in the beginning with just 11 runs but, Virat kohli and Shekhar DHawan lead the team to the win by making sure they have enough runs and to not lose anymore wickets.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck first as he took David Warner off the game in the first over. And even though Aron Finch tried to lead Australia to the win by scoring 42, Indian team kept taking wickets at regular intervals. India have made last years T20 International series in January look so easy by defeating Australia by a 3-0. It is looking really good for India this year, as they have only lost one match from the ODI 5-series.
